State Legislative Assembly Building is the state legislative seat of Penang/Pulau Pinang & also former central police station with police court where is built in Anglo-Indian architectural style on 1820s & turned into the State Legislative Assembly Building on 1963, it is also the oldest still operating & smallest state legislative assembly building of Malaysia. The Anglo-Indian architectural style is the architectural style that mixed the architectural styles of European & Indian. Furthermore, the location of this building called Light Street/Lebuh Light is named after the founder of Penang, late Mr.Francis Light and Chinese names like Poh Le Khau(玻璃口) & Po Le Si Chin(玻璃土前) where its name is derived from the pronunciation of Hokkien/Minnan dialect of police due to the former central police station with police court(now known as State Legislative Assembly Building) in here.
