III.Clan Jetties/姓氏桥:
Clan Jetties are the traditional Chinese settlements whose are consists of nine clan families villages(Chew Jetty/姓周桥, Lim Jetty/姓林桥, Ong Jetty/姓王桥, Tan Jetty/姓陈桥, Lee Jetty/姓李桥, New Jetty/杂姓桥/十姓桥 & Yeoh Jetty/姓杨桥) that built on stilts but two villages(Koay Jetty/姓郭桥(ancestry from Hui'an County(惠安) of Quanzhou(泉州) Municipality of Fujian Province of China) & Peng Aun Jetty/平安桥) has been destroyed by fire tragedy & demolished on 2003 & 2004, it is comes crowded during the praying ceremony of Jade Emperor God Festival(天公诞) on night of Eighth Day of First Month of Chinese Lunar Calendar every year. Jade Emperor Festival is the birthday of Chinese Supreme God & Taoist Heavenly God, Lord Jade Emperor(玉帝/玉皇大帝/玉皇上帝/天公) on the every Ninth Day of First Month of Chinese Lunar Calendar.
 
姓氏桥(前名为海上屋/桥屋/海墘桥)是包含了建在高跷上的九座姓氏宗亲村庄(姓周桥、姓林桥、姓王桥、姓陈桥、姓李桥、杂姓桥/十姓桥和姓杨桥)但有两座(祖籍中国福建省泉州市惠安县的姓郭桥和平安桥)已在二零零三年与二零零四年遭火灾摧毁与被拆除的传统华人集聚地，它在每个农历正月初八晚上的天公诞祭祀仪式期间充满人潮。天公诞是每个农历正月初九的华人最高神明与道教天神玉帝/玉皇大帝/玉皇上帝/天公的诞辰。

It is the settlement of Chinese community of Surname Yeoh(杨) whose ancestry from Haicheng District(海澄县)(now part of Longhai District/龙海区) of Zhangzhou(漳州) Municipality of Fujian Province of China that formerly served as port of transporting goods, it is the sending off point of sacred boat of Nine Emperor Gods Festival of Kew Ong Yah Temple during the Nine Emperor Gods Festival. Surname Yang(Hokkien/Minnan Dialect called Yeoh) is the surname of descendant of son of ruler of State of Jin(晋国) of Spring & Autumn Period(春秋) of China, Duke Wu of Jin(晋武公) called Yang Boqiao(杨伯侨) which is believed to be originated from Surname Ji(姬).

It is the Chinese temple & also first floating Goddess of Mercy temple of Penang where is dedicated to Chinese, Buddhist & Taoist Goddess of Mercy, Lord Avalokiteśvara(观世音菩萨/观音大士/慈航真人/慈航大士) that famous for its 33 avatar statues of Lord Avalokiteśvara. The Goddess of Mercy/Avalokiteśvara's Birthdays is celebrated during the Nineteenth Day of Second Month(Birthday), Nineteenth Day of Sixth Month(Enlightment Day) & Nineteenth Day of Ninth Month(Nirvana Day) of Chinese Lunar Calendar. The Chinese temple architectural style is the temple that constructed based on Chinese philosophy called Feng Shui(风水) with the structure features like dougong(斗拱), curved roof & eaves etc.

这间是位于红灯角填海区内以其三十三尊观音化身塑像闻名的供奉着华人民间信仰、佛教和道教慈悲女神观世音菩萨/观音大士/慈航真人/慈航大士的华人庙宇兼全槟城/槟榔屿第一座水上观音庙。观音诞是在华人农历二月十九日(生日)、六月十九日(成道日)与九月十九日(涅槃日)期间庆祝。中式/汉式庙宇建筑风格是根据华人/汉人风水哲理来建造像斗栱、曲线型屋顶与屋檐等建筑特色的庙宇。

The Penang is also famous for Nasi Kandar which is the Tamil Muslim rice dish that named after the Malay word, Kandar means the pole due to the shoulder pole for transporting the two baskets of foods of Nasi Kandar when selling during the past, it is consists of steamed rice, meats, vegetables, seafoods & gravies etc. Furthermore, visitors can also buying some Pepper Biscuit which is made with pepper & fermented bean curd and also Tambun Biscuit. The Tambun Biscuit is the mini version of mung bean paste made Bean Paste Biscuit/Tau Sar Peah which is believed to be invented by apprentice of Chop Chuan Guan(Lion Planet Brand) Biscuit Shop of Nibong Tebal from Bukit Tambun and another version is the local boatmen of Penang Island are usually buying the Bean Paste Biscuit/Tau Sar Peah from biscuits shops near the port of delivery of Bukit Tambun, the most of brand name of shops of Tambun Biscuit usually using Chinese word, 香 as last name. The vanishing street food of George Town is the Pok Chiang which is the glutinous rice rolls that fulfilled with coconut slices & adding the sugar & crushed peanut when eating, it is formerly selling in the Chowrasta Market on every Saturday morning.
