Main Entrance of A'Famosa Resort/爱法摩沙度假村大门

Simpang Ampat(do not confused with Simpang Ampat of Penang) is the town located near Alor Gajah & Taboh Naning(formerly known as Ulu Air) where the A'Famosa Resort is located. A'Famosa Resort is a integrated resort located in Simpang Ampat with safari park, water park, outlets shopping centre, accommodation facilities, golf course & homestay etc. which is named after same name of the fortress of the A'Famosa in the Malacca City that is also one of the members of Malaysian Association of Themepark & Family Attractions(MATFA) about 530 hectares. There are a lot of handicrafts & souvenirs stalls around the Simpang Ampat. This area is formerly known as Naning where is the chiefdom that started from 1641 & ending on 1832 with the British army won the Naning War which is the battle between British army & chief of Naning, late Dol Said, the final resting site of Dol Said has been described as National Heritage of Malaysia & the Naning Heritage & History Museum/Muzium Warisan & Sejarah Naning which is showing the history & culture of Naning are also located in here. Located near the Simpang Ampat is the Alor Gajah where is the district capital of Alor Gajah District & also the local government seat of Alor Gajah Municipal Council/Majlis Perbandaran Alor Gajah with bus terminal called AG Central/AG Sentral & public hospital that its name means route of wild elephants in Malay words due to forest area during the past, it is the birthplace of local famous footballer, Mr.Soh Chin Ann(苏进安) who is one of most capped male football player of the world has been nicknamed as Tauke/Tokway(头家) & also the location of manufacturing factory of famous biscuit brand since 1985, Julie's.
